LEWES, Del. - The city of Lewes has declared May 3 as Historic Lewes Farmers Market Day to mark the start of the 20th season of the market. The Mayor and City Council issued a proclamation recognizing the market’s role in the community, and notes the market’s contribution to bringing people together, supporting regional farms, and promoting agriculture.

The 2025 season will begin on Saturday, May 3, at 8 a.m. at George H.P. Smith Park. The market will hold events throughout the year, including collaborations with local chefs and restaurants. One event will be a farm dinner at Lewes Oyster House on May 18, featuring ingredients from market vendors.

The market has adopted the slogan “Eat Fresh, Stay Rooted, Love Local,” for the season and encourages people to place signs in their yards. Additional events are planned for later in the year.
