OCEAN CITY, Md. -Â A Baltimore man was arrested in Ocean City following an investigation into multiple vehicle break-ins, credit card fraud and weapons violations, police said Saturday, June 14.
According to the Ocean City Police Department, officers responded on Thursday, June 12, to the 100 block of Wicomico Street for a reported theft.
A woman told police she had arrived in town the afternoon of Wednesday, June 11, and returned to her parked vehicle the following morning to find signs of a break-in. Several personal items were missing, and she had received fraud alerts from her credit card company related to nearby businesses.
Police obtained a description of the suspect through local surveillance footage.
Later that evening, at approximately 7:46 p.m., a Worcester County sheriff’s deputy patrolling near 8th Street and Wilmington Lane spotted a man matching the suspect’s description. T
he deputy and an Ocean City police officer on bicycle patrol attempted to stop the individual, who fled on foot. After a brief pursuit, the suspect identified as Terrell Jones, 37, of Baltimore was taken into custody.

Additional stolen property was also found along the path of pursuit, which investigators linked to two separate vehicle break-ins, including one that had not yet been reported from the 400 block of Baltimore Avenue.
Investigators determined that Jones is legally prohibited from possessing a firearm. He also had multiple outstanding warrants, including one from Baltimore County and another for a probation violation in Baltimore City Circuit Court.
Jones was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including:
Two counts of theft ($100 to under $1,500)
