MILLSBORO, Del.- A Millsboro man was arrested Friday evening on DUI and drug charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of heroin, according to Delaware State Police.
On March 28 at approximately 7:10 p.m., police say a trooper patrolling the area saw a silver Ford Flex leaving a Royal Farms parking lot and entering Mount Joy Road. The driver, later identified as 38-year-old Brandon Myers of Millsboro, was stopped for not wearing a seatbelt and having a broken passenger-side headlight.
According to DSP, during the stop, the trooper noticed Myers appeared drowsy and spotted drug paraphernalia in the vehicle’s center console. A search of Myers’ pocket uncovered several waxed bags suspected to contain heroin. After administering a Standardized Field Sobriety Test, the trooper took Myers into custody for driving under the influence.
A further search of the Ford led to the discovery of 105 bags of heroin, approximately 3.15 grams, along with additional drug paraphernalia.
Police say Myers was taken to Troop 4, where he was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence of drugs, and failure to wear a seatbelt.
He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and released on a $7,875 unsecured bond.
