MILTON, Del. - The Milton Theatre is moving into Phase 2 of its expansion project, with plans to break ground by the end of June, according to J.P. Lacap, the theatre’s marketing director.
The theatre’s popular education programs are consistently sold out, and officials say the new space will ensure no child is turned away.

"The original plan was to build up on the other side of the theater," said J.P. Lacap, the theatre’s marketing director. "What we’re going to do instead is extend the theater from the current building to the back, where our parking lot is."

The project will include additional rehearsal rooms and classrooms, new restrooms, a bar, and a redesigned lobby for guests. A reconstructed façade, including a new balcony facing Union Street, is part of the final phase, pending approval from the town’s Historic Preservation Commission.
