Minos Conaway intersection

LEWES, Del. - Neighbors in Lewes are looking forward to a traffic light at the Minos Conaway and Route 9 intersection.

The light is not active yet- but will be on November 17th.

Lewes locals, like Michael Gilsenan, say it's a dangerous intersection.

"It's very difficult to get in and out of. So it's the best thing that's happened in a while here. So we're very happy," says Gilsenan.

The lights are in a detour for the Plantation road closure that began earlier this week.

DelDOT is asking drivers to be cautious of the light once it is activated.

On the evening of November 14, the light will begin a 72-hour cycle of flashing lights before being fully operational on the 17th.
