Jenny Kane - APFederal authorities charged an Oklahoma man with sending hundreds of letters containing nonhazardous white powder to public officials. The FBI says in a court filing made public Tuesday that the powders turned out to be yeast or flour, though not all letters have been fully tested. The man is charged with conveying a hoax and mailing threatening communications. He is expected to make his initial court appearance Tuesday in Oklahoma City. The powders were mailed to public officials ahead of the 2024 and 2026 elections. Investigators believe more than 700 mailings appeared to be associated with the same sender.
