Milton Community Volunteer Fair

The Milton Community Volunteer Fair was held at the Milton Public Library Wednesday afternoon.

MILTON, Del. - In a display of community spirit, the Milton Public Library played host to the Milton Community Volunteer Fair this afternoon. The event, organized by the Milton Chamber of Commerce, the Cape Henlopen School District’s Mentoring Program, and the Milton Public Library, aimed to connect residents with various non-profit organizations, each committed to making a lasting impact in Milton.

Community members of all ages seized the opportunity to explore a myriad of volunteer possibilities, turning the library into a bustling hub of activity. Attendees navigated non-profit tables, forging connections and discovering ways to contribute to the betterment of their community.

“We wanted to make sure we had a big variety of different non-profits because not everybody is interested in the same thing,” Kim Hoey Stevenson, Director of Cape Henlopen Mentoring Program, explained. “Everybody has different missions in their life or different things that they are interested in, and that way this is kind of a one-stop shop to figure out what they want and what they want to do.”

The fair showcased the collaborative efforts of local organizations and businesses, with sponsors including the Highway One Marketing, the Town of Milton, Next Home Tomorrow Realty, and Dogfish Head, among others.

This event is just the beginning of a collective effort to strengthen community bonds. The organizers, filled with optimism, hope that this volunteer fair will be the first of many to come. For more info on ways to volunteer, visit historicmilton.com.
