Bridge Crash

CAPE CHARLES, Va. - A single-car crash involving a District police unit happened around 12:40 p.m. on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel at the One Mile Post southbound near Virginia Beach.

No one was hurt in the crash, according to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, Deputy Executive Director of Finance and Operations, Thomas R. Anderson, III. One person was taken by ambulance for further evaluation.

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel has reopened to all traffic. Drivers traveling southbound should still expect a single-lane closure near the crash scene while maintenance crews repair a damaged guardrail.
