Mega Millions

FLORIDA-- The winner of this summer's record $1.6 billion MEGA MILLIONS® jackpot is a limited liability company formed in Delaware.

According to the Florida Lottery, Saltines Holdings, LLC claimed the monumental MEGA MILLIONS® jackpot from the August 8th drawing. NBC's Tampa affiliate, WFLA, reports that the ticket was claimed in September, but Florida law keeps lottery winners' names private for 90 days.

According to Delaware corporation records, Saltines Holdings, LLC was formed in the First State on September 7th, nearly a month after the big win. By claiming the ticket as a Delaware LLC, the winner can stay anonymous.

The Florida lottery says the winner chose to receive the winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $794,248,882.00. The ticket was purchased from Publix in Neptune Beach.
