REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - The Belhaven Hotel is heading towards another public hearing after Thursdays public hearing.

Three people pushed back against the Belhaven Hotel plans, citing concerns that updated designs and key documents were submitted just 48 hours before the scheduled hearing.

Not all residents are against the idea. Rehoboth local Bob Grasser supports the project and says it could benefit the community.

"I'm for it. I think it'd be good for the community, good to enhance what we have going on here," Grasser said.

Because of those late submissions, the Rehoboth Beach Planning Commission voted unanimously to continue the public hearing on July 25.

One key development from Thursday’s hearing: representatives for the Belhaven Hotel have agreed to submit a completed set of plans by July 8, giving the public and the commission 17 days to review the materials before the next hearing.

The proposed Belhaven Hotel includes 105 rooms, retail space, restaurant space, 78 underground garage parking spots and 29 additional street-level spaces. The project has drawn both support and opposition from residents and visitors alike.
