Sand holes are a serious issue in Bethany Beach
- Updated
In a recent news letter, the town of Bethany Beach said they are seeing an increase in unattended sand holes on the beach. While digging in the sand may seem like a harmless activity, it could lead to serious injury. Back in 2021, Bethany Beach instated an ordinance (223-9) against digging holes in the sand that are more than one foot deep and two feet wide. The ordinance explains someone could be fined for leaving holes in the sand, but the town says it is focused on educating people before giving them a fine.
