Salisbury Home Fire

SALISBURY, Md. – A fire that broke out late Thursday afternoon in the 200 block of Shad Point Road caused an estimated $100,000 in damage to a two-story home, but no serious injuries were reported.

The fire started around 4:30 p.m. on May 8 in the kitchen of a single-family home. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the fire was caused by a burner on the stove being left on accidentally.

The occupants were evaluated for smoke inhalation but did not need to go to the hospital. The Fruitland Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call, with 25 firefighters working to control the fire in 42 minutes. 

The American Red Cross is assisting the people who lived there as they recover from the damage.
