BALTIMORE, Md. - Maryland State Police Aviation Command conducted three separate aerial hoist rescues in Talbot, Baltimore, and Garrett Counties this past weekend.

The first rescue occurred on July 3 in Talbot County after troopers say three 18-year-old women became stranded in deep mud while jet skiing on Skipton Creek in Wye Mills. At the time, temperatures reached 99 degrees, with a heat index of 115 degrees. A helicopter crew responded to the scene and rescued all three riders, who troopers say were ok.

Later that evening, a separate state police helicopter unit rescued two tubers who were stuck in the waterway and mud at Big Gunpowder Falls in Cockeysville around 8 p.m. Baltimore County Rescue Personnel directed the tubers through a thick wooded area to the shoreline, and Trooper 1 deployed a rescue basket and trail line below. According to state police, both tubers were transported to a nearby elementary school to be evaluated by Emergency Medical Services personnel.

On July 5, A helicopter unit based out of Cumberland rescued an injured person who fell at Muddy Creek Falls in Swallow Falls State Park in Garrett County around 11:20 a.m. Troopers say a rescue technician was lowered down to a rock in the middle of the river, where the patient was taken up via an Air Rescue Vest. The person was then transported to a local hospital for treatment.
