"A committee of us sit down and look at who in our communities that have made a difference and that we can go out and work together and create a voice for scouting," says Pat Campbell-White, who served as the Master of Ceremonies. "We have many Scouts with us here this evening, who have shared their experiences with the guests here tonight."

"That's part of the mission here, it's to raise money to help the program, but it's also to expose the Scouts," Jack Riddle says. 'There's a whole bunch of business folks in there, a whole bunch of business professionals."

"It's a reflection of people in the business community that work all day, but yet find time to volunteer and give their time back to the community and give part of the their hard-earned money back into a function that needs it," Riddle says. "That's what the real message is here tonight let's take our time, our resources, our money and invest it into a program to make the youth a better place."

Campbell-White says the awards ceremony raised nearly $50,000 for the Del-Mar-Va Council as of Tuesday night. That's a record for the event.
