LEWES, Del. - Rabbi David Zaslow, in collaboration with the Lewes Public Library and Seaside Jewish Community, will be holding a book talk and signing of "Jesus: First Century Rabbi" at the library on May 4 at 11 a.m.

Rabbi Zaslow, the leader of the Havurah Shir Hadash synagogue in Ashland, Oregon, looks to spotlight the mutual paths of Christianity and Judaism through Jesus' dedication to his Jewish faith. Zaslow hopes to show appreciation to both religions, through understanding and tolerance, inspired by the warmth and humor the book provides.

"Rabbi David has a great ability to present serious scholarship in an accessible and relatable way for interfaith audiences," says SJC's Rabbi Julie Hilton Danan. "He has written about the Jewish roots of Christianity in a way that helps all of us gain a greater appreciation for each other’s traditions —as well as our own."

The Lewes Library says the event, made with the additional support from the Jewish Federation of Delaware, will also be streamed live on Zoom. Registration is required to attend, both for online and in-person attendance. Books will also be available for either cash or check purchase and signing at the event.
