A car crash killed two people on Fenwick Road Tuesday.

SELBYVILLE, Del. - Delaware State Police are investigating a crash that killed two people Tuesday morning after a Chevrolet Camaro veered into oncoming traffic on Lighthouse Road.

Troopers said the crash happened around 7:54 a.m. July 8, when the eastbound Camaro crossed the double-yellow center line near New Road and entered the path of a westbound Hyundai Santa Fe. The front of the Camaro hit the front of the Santa Fe, resulting in severe damage to both cars.

The driver of the Camaro, 22-year-old Veronika McCoy from Berlin, was taken to an area hospital, where she later died. 

77-year-old Douglas Bachtell from Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, who was in the right front seat of the Santa Fe, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Santa Fe, a 74-year-old man from Selbyville, was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.

DSP say Lighthouse Road was closed for several hours while the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit examined the scene and crews cleared the wreckage.
