The Sussex County Land Trust says Schell Brothers is donating $1,000 for each home site planned in the Channel Point community. The funding will help protect natural, agricultural and cultural landscapes throughout the county as development continues in the area.

Sussex County Council narrowly approved a zoning change Tuesday that will allow commercial development at the Northstar development project planned on Route 9. 

The site is expected to accommodate nearly 30 businesses, providing space for warehouses, offices, and a new water tower to support the city’s sewage infrastructure.

In Monday night's meeting, city council has approved an agreement with an added fee program for the Transportation Improvement District project.
