The Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation is asking people who get electricity from municipal utilities across the state to voluntarily reduce their electric use Tuesday morning, Jan. 20, due to cold temperatures and increased energy demand.
In Milford, the "Power Saver Hours" are set from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.. DEC's similar "Beat the Peak" initiative is set to go from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Lewes Board of Public works announced an electric rate increase starting in June this year for both people living in the town and businesses.
