Employers in Delaware with 10 or more eligible employees must submit required hours and wage reports to the Department of Labor by the end of a 90-day grace period on Tuesday, March 31, in order for workers to receive benefits through the state's Paid Leave program, which began Jan. 1.
As the New Year begins, so does a major change for Delaware workers. January 1st, 2026 marks the official launch of Delaware’s Paid Family and Medical Leave program, a benefit people say will offer crucial financial support to employees during life’s most challenging moments.

Bethany Beach's police chief, Michael Redmon, has been placed on administrative leave following a DUI charge, WRDE confirmed with the town manager.
"When an employee is placed on paid leave, this should never be construed as expressing or implying that an employee will face employment action or that an employee may have engaged in any wrongful conduct of any severity," the district said Friday.
An investigation is ongoing, though the district could not comment further. WRDE has reached out to area law enforcement and learned that state police are not involved at the time of writing.
