According to Delaware State Police, a Jeep Wrangler pulling two jet-skis was driving south in the right lane of Coastal Highway around 8:59 p.m.

MILFORD, Del. - A woman from Delaware and a woman from Maryland were hurt after a car crash on Coastal Highway Thursday night, June 5.

According to Delaware State Police, a Jeep Wrangler pulling two jet-skis was driving south in the right lane of Coastal Highway around 8:59 p.m. as it approached Johnson Road. At the same time, a Toyota Corolla heading west had stopped at the median crossover at the intersection.

Investigators said the Toyota driver proceeded to cross the southbound lanes and entered the Jeep’s path. The Jeep then hit the passenger’s side of the Toyota.

The Jeep’s driver, a 42-year-old man from New Freedom, Pennsylvania, was not hurt. His passenger, a 33-year-old woman from Middle River, Maryland, was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries DSP described as not life-threatening.

The Toyota’s driver, a 74-year-old woman from Milford, was also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police issued her a summons for failing to obey a traffic control device.

Traffic on Coastal Highway was affected briefly as crews responded to the crash and cleared the scene.
