MILFORD, Del. - The Cedar Creek drawbridge is set to reopen to drivers Tuesday morning at 7 a.m., following an emergency closure caused by a mechanical issue.
The Delaware Department of Transportation has closed Cedar Beach Road between Lighthouse Road and Marina Lane after the drawbridge experienced an unexpected malfunction. Crews are working to resolve the issue, and the bridge will resume normal operations Tuesday.
During the closure, the detour for those north of the drawbridge is to follow Cedar Beach Road north to Coastal Hwy, follow Coastal Hwy south to Slaughter Beach Road, follow Slaughter Beach Road east to Bay Avenue and follow Bay Avenue north to Cedar Creek Drawbridge.
The detour for those south of the drawbridge is to follow Bay Ave south to Slaughter Beach Road, follow Slaughter Beach Road west to Coastal Hwy, follow Coastal Hwy north to Cedar Beach Road and follow Cedar Beach Road east to Cedar Creek Drawbridge.
