The Delaware Office of Highway Safety emphasizes the importance of sober driving over the 4th of July weekend.

DELAWARE - The Delaware Office of Highway Safety is once again offering its Sober Rides program this July Fourth, giving Delawareans the opportunity to celebrate safely by using free or discounted ride-share services statewide.

Through the initiative, Delawareans can receive ride-share vouchers worth up to $20 for use with Lyft or Uber. Vouchers can be claimed starting at 8 a.m. on Friday, July 4, at MySoberRides.com and used between noon on July 4 and 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 5.

The program is designed to prevent impaired driving by making it easier and more affordable for individuals to travel to and from holiday festivities. OHS is promoting the campaign through digital advertising, social media, and printed materials in bars and restaurants across the state. Participating establishments will share posters, table tents and business cards to spread awareness.

This July Fourth marks the final event in the 2024–2025 Sober Rides season, which also included Thanksgiving Eve, New Year’s Eve and St. Patrick’s Day. To date, the program has provided more than 600 safe rides home for Delawareans.
