Today brings a sharp cool-down across Delmarva in the wake of a strong cold front, with temperatures falling through the 50s this afternoon and north winds gusting up to 35 mph. After a chilly night, mainly sunny but cool weather follows Tuesday before a midweek warm-up sends highs back into the 70s by Thursday. Another front arrives Friday with a chance for showers and a rumble of thunder, followed by a cooler but dry and sunny weekend.
Coastal Sussex County, Delaware, and Ocean City, Maryland, are expected to dry out early Saturday after overnight showers, with clear skies and calmer conditions giving way to a milder start Sunday.
The Dewey Beach Town Council unanimously approved a request for beachside dining, allowing The Lighthouse Restaurant to expand its seating onto the sand.

Clouds will build this evening ahead of a quick-moving system bringing light showers overnight into early Saturday, with rainfall totals staying under a quarter inch and showers ending by around 8 a.m. Saturday. The weekend stays mild, with highs in the 50s and 60s Saturday and well into the 70s inland Sunday, before a stronger cold front arrives Monday with showers, gusty winds, and much colder air to start next week.
