DELAWARE - The Delaware Republican Party is formally endorsing Valerie Jones Giltner in her candidacy for the District 37 Special Election.
The District 37 seat is now vacant due to former State Representative Ruth Briggs King (R-Georgetown / Millsboro) resigning from the Delaware House of Representatives. Briggs King decided to step down from legislature to move into her new residence just over the district line from the 37th District.
Valerie is a retired critical care nurse and healthcare consultant from Georgetown. According to the Delaware GOP, Valerie will be the keynote speaker at the Sussex Regional Meeting on Dec. 11 at 6:30 p.m., located at the Millsboro Fire-hall, 109 E. State St., Millsboro.
On Wednesday, Nov. 22, Delaware Democrats nominated Jane Hovington for the District 37 vacancy as well.
The election will take place Dec. 21 from 7 to 8 a.m. at assigned polling locations. The first day of early voting is Dec. 8.
