DELAWARE

Delaware State Police are warning people about unauthorized fundraising efforts circulating online following the deadly shooting that killed a state trooper at the Wilmington Division of Motor Vehicles.

The agency said the fundraising attempts are not affiliated with or endorsed by the family of Corporal Grade One Matthew T. “Ty” Snook or the Delaware State Police. People are urged to rely only on information released through DSP’s verified outlets.

For official information, the Delaware State Police confirm that a fundraising effort has been established through Help a Hero to support the Snook family. As of Friday at 3 a.m., the fund has raised nearly $230,000.

Funeral arrangement information will be released when available and in coordination with Snook’s family, according to DSP.
