The chance of seeing any wintry mix on Delmarva has greatly diminished. However, out of an abundance of precaution, DelDOT has been brining roads statewide today as a slight chance for wintry precipitation remains possible tomorrow.
According to DelDOT Director of Community Relations, C.R. McLeod, “It takes about four times less rock salt to prevent ice from accumulating on roads than it does to remove it after it is formed.”
Freezing temperatures are expected overnight, with a forecast low close to 28° and increasing cloud cover.
As far as tomorrow’s wintry mix event, little to no snow accumulation is expected. In fact, the air will be so dry that any precipitation that does fall is likely to evaporate before ever hitting the ground. That being said, it is possible for a few raindrops or snowflakes to work their way to the surface.
