DELMAR, Md./Del.- Counselors will be on hand at Delmar schools Monday morning, after a student was killed in a car crash.
The district writes that additional counseling and support staff are available for students and staff as needed, and all athletic events are postponed as well. School officials say practices may be held depending on individual team needs.
The student has not been identified publicly, but outpourings of support were seen all across social media Sunday evening. A candlelight vigil and bonfire was held, and the school district and football team asked for continued prayers.
The district says "further private and public efforts will be underway in short order to express the community’s outpouring of support for the family at this most difficult of times."
