ELLENDALE, Del. - A family found themselves without a home after a house fire in Ellendale late Tuesday night, left with only the clothes they had on.
The State Fire Marshal reported that an electrical malfunction in the laundry room sparked the fire around 11 p.m., resulting in approximately $20,000 in damages.
Aroldo Ramos shared the toll the fire has taken on his family.
"Right now, we are devastated because we struggle so much every day under the sun working and for this to happen to us… What hurts me the most is my daughter because she asks, 'What is she going to do without her house?'" Ramos said.
In response to the tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support the Ramos family. As of this writing, donors have contributed over $1,000 towards the campaign's $5,000 goal.
