Troopers from the Maryland State Police responded around 11 a.m. to the crash. Police said five people were transported by ambulance to a hospital for treatment after being hurt.
WHALEYVILLE, Md. - Five people were taken to a hospital after two cars crashed Monday morning at Route 50 and Whaleyville Road.

Lanes in the area were briefly closed following the crash but have since reopened. MSP is investigating the cause of the crash.
