DOVER, Del. - A public forum focused on the health and access to care for Delaware's land and sea farm workers is scheduled for June 3 at the Delaware Agricultural Museum in Dover. The event, called the Linking Agriculture and Aquaculture Farm Vitality and Health Forum, runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to the public at no cost.

The University of Delaware Cooperative Extension and its partners, are organizing the forum, aiming to address barriers to physical and mental health care for agricultural and aquaculture workers.

“It is a population faced with increased challenges regarding access to health care—geographical and financial access—and the resulting consequences associated with lack of access to care, said Erik Ervin, interim director of the Cooperative Extension.

The forum will also cover resources, support networks and possible policy actions to improve health care access for people working in farming and aquaculture.
