GEORGETOWN, Del. - The Georgetown Town Council has approved a waiver request from the town and the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce to allow food trucks on East Market Street at Cherry Lane for "Food Truck Tuesday" during the summer.
Food trucks will be allowed on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from May through August 2025, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The specific dates are: May 13, May 27, June 10, June 24, July 8, July 22, Aug. 12, and Aug. 26.
No more than four food trucks will be permitted on Tuesdays.
The waiver applies to Town Code § 119-7 A.
At Monday's Town Council meeting, Georgetown Town Manager Gene Dvornick said the event is intended to encourage people to come out of their offices. Dvornick added that signs will be posted to promote nearby restaurants, including Maudy’s Hispanic Cuisine, Caruso’s Pizza & Pasta Italian Eatery, and Jalapeño Restaurant.
