GEORGETOWN, Del. - After more than seven years of journey, Wawa welcomed customers for the first time on Thursday morning along Route 113 near Edward Street.
City officials, first responders, and community members gathered for the ribbon cutting later that day.
Sue Sterling, a Georgetown resident, expressed her enthusiasm about having a Wawa three blocks from her home.
"I'm very excited. I've been looking forward to it since I heard about it coming here, and being so close to Wawa is amazing," she said.
Free coffee is available throughout this opening day for those who have not yet visited.
