MILTON, Del. - The corner of Union Street Extended and Route 16 looks very different now that a home at the property has been moved down the street as development continues.
On Monday, the house located on the corner was moved to across the Milton Post Office. The move happened early in the early morning hours.
The land behind the house is set to be the site of a Royal Farms gas station and convenience store. That project has been held up due to the proposed traffic changes and improvements to the intersection of Route 16 and Union Street Extended.
This is the latest in development along Route 16. Prior to this, McDonald's made its debut across from the house's original location, in the Food Lion shopping center. The construction of the McDonald's also caused concern from locals when it came to traffic.
