GEORGETOWN, Del. — A Maryland man is behind bars after police say he kidnapped another man in Georgetown on the morning of May 3 and drove him to Seaford, where the victim later escaped.
According to Georgetown Police, officers were contacted by Seaford Police around 8 a.m. after they found the victim at the Motel 6 in Seaford. The victim told officers that he had been taken against his will from Georgetown roughly an hour earlier. He said he had escaped from the suspect's car after being forcibly taken.
The victim also reported that the incident stemmed from a confrontation in which he tried to help another man avoid a possible assault by the suspect. Police said he was able to provide a description of both the suspect and the car involved.

After investigating, Georgetown Police identified the accused kidnapper as Michael J. Still of Hurlock and obtained an arrest warrant for him. The warrant included the following charges:
Kidnapping – First Degree
Terroristic Threatening
Offensive Touching
Still was later taken into custody on May 6 by the Dover Police Department during a traffic stop. Georgetown Police then assumed custody and executed the arrest warrant. Following his arraignment, Still was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution with $26,500 cash bail.
