GEORGETOWN, Del. - La Esperanza marked a significant milestone with its first annual Citizenship Celebration at Delaware Technical Community College in Georgetown, recognizing the clients it has assisted in becoming U.S. citizens from 2020 to 2022.

The event honored 36 new citizens and their families, celebrating their sacrifices and efforts on their journey to citizenship.

"I feel so blessed, and I feel so proud of my community, Latin people. I'm proud to be Mexican. I want to tell all the people outside that... always persist on your dream," Lizbeth Reyes, who arrived in the United States 23 years ago from Mexico, said.

Looking forward, La Esperanza is committed to growing this annual celebration to recognize many new citizens yearly.
