MILTON, Del. - The Delaware Department of Transportation says there will be lane closures at the intersection of Route 1 and Route 16 for bridge inspection on April 8. Route 1 and Route 16 drivers can expect daytime lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The bridge inspection is related to the ongoing construction of an overpass at the intersection. According to DelDOT, the project is expected to help with traffic flow and eliminating the probability of crashes near the intersection.
The project, that began in 2022, is expected to be done towards the end of 2025, costing a total of $23 million.
