LEWES, Del. - The famous antique cannonball from the Lewes Cannonball House has been re-installed in its rightful spot at the front of the building.
The home was scarred by cannon fire in spring of 1813, when Lewes was bombarded during the War of 1812. According to the Lewes Historical Society, that's when the cannonball was lodged into the building's foundation.
The cannonball went missing in February. It was later found in front of the Lewes Chamber of Commerce a week later.
