LEWES, Del.- Two ordinances that would raise the cost of operation for Lewes hotels and short-term rentals have public hearings scheduled for this July.
The city is looking to impose a lodging tax for hotels that would go up to 3%, and is looking to raise the Gross Receipts Rental Tax for short-term rentals from 5% to 6%.
City council has talked about these possible tax hikes for a few months now. Nothing was decided at the council's meeting on May 13.
Both public hearings will be on July 1.
