US 50 Bridge in Ocean City

This undertaking will entail round-the-clock work on the bridge's machinery room areas and will necessitate lane closures, including sidewalk and marine channel closures.

OCEAN CITY, Md. - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) has begun their plans to repair the US 50 (Harry W. Kelley Memorial Bridge) over Sinepuxent Bay in Ocean City, Worcester County.

This undertaking will entail round-the-clock work on the bridge's machinery room areas and will necessitate lane closures, including sidewalk and marine channel closures.

Mark Crampton, the District Engineer for the Lower Shore at the State Highway Administration (SHA), highlighted the focus on the timing of the repairs.

"There's never a good time to do it in the summer season, and so we have to kind of work all season when both vehicles and boat traffic or the least. And so luckily for us, the things that have to be done are not really temperature dependent."

Weather permitting, the repair work is anticipated to conclude by March 2. To stay informed about all major State Highway Administration projects, please visit the project portal or the homepage at roads.maryland.gov. For real-time traffic conditions, you can access md511.maryland.gov.
