MILFORD, Del. - A man was arrested after police say they found drugs and a handgun in his car, which was parked in a city park after hours.
Milford police say officers spotted a car in the Bicentennial Park parking lot on April 26 after the park had closed. When they approached the car, officers saw drug paraphernalia in plain view.
Police said the driver, 38-year-old Gerald Dixon, was found with powdered cocaine, a loaded Smith & Wesson handgun and ammunition.
Dixon was charged with multiple offenses, including possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed weapon, drug possession, and being in a city park after hours.
He was released on $31,001 unsecured bail and is set to be placed under pre-trial supervision.
