REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - After nearly two years and hundreds of miles on foot, Ranjeet Singh has achieved a remarkable milestone — completing a marathon in all 50 states.
On Sunday, Singh crossed the finish line of the Coastal Delaware Running Festival in Rehoboth Beach, marking the end of a 20-month journey that saw him run 50 marathons across the country.
“When I started the journey, I thought I would finish in two years,” Singh said. “But I finished in 20 months.”
The scenic 26.2-mile course in Delaware was more than just another race for Singh — it was a celebration. He chose the First State as the final stop on his marathon tour, having started his mission in Alaska.
"I started from Alaska, that was my first race. And this is the last.” He said.
What was originally planned as a 24-month challenge ended early, with Singh completing a marathon roughly every two weeks — without taking a break.
“Every two weeks I was running [a] marathon,” he said.

The YMCA provided him with a van to travel from race to race and help spread his journey.
Throughout his effort, Singh had the support of his family and the YMCA, which provided him with a van to travel from race to race and help spread his journey.
Singh hopes his journey inspires others to chase their goals, one step at a time. “I always tell them don’t plan big,” he said. “Just go baby steps and just go one step at a time, because everybody can run.”
Now that he's crossed his 50th finish line, Singh plans to rest — but only briefly. His next ambitious goal is running from Los Angeles to Boston.
