MILFORD, Del. — Milford police are investigating a July 31 motorcycle crash that resulted in the death of a 20-year-old Milford man. Police said the crash happened at approximately 1:15 a.m. as a black Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling north on North DuPont Boulevard approaching North Walnut Street.
According to police, the motorcycle failed to stop at the traffic signal and collided with a gray GMC Acadia that was turning left onto North DuPont Boulevard from Warner Road.
The motorcycle operator was ejected in the crash. Police said the SUV then struck a fire hydrant and utility pole, causing disabling damage to the vehicle. Delaware State Police and Milford police officers responded and began lifesaving measures on the motorcycle operator. He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
Police later said the man died from his injuries. Investigators identified him as Gavin Webb, 20, of Milford. The 17-year-old male driver of the GMC Acadia was not injured, according to police.
The investigation remains ongoing.
