DOVER, Del. - The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition is bringing back its annual Monster Mile Walk for a Cause to Dover Motor Speedway this fall, with a new timed 5K joining the event for the first time.

The 17th annual fundraiser will take place Sunday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the speedway. In addition to the 1-mile walk and 5K, the event will feature food vendors, music, family activities and local businesses.

Organizers say every dollar raised supports the coalition's statewide programs, including breast health education, free screenings, patient navigation, survivorship services and emergency financial assistance for Delawareans facing breast cancer.

The coalition says it is also seeking event sponsors and encouraging participants to form fundraising teams. Awards will be presented for the top fundraisers, best team costume and best dog costume.
