ROAD CLOSURE

SEAFORD, Del - At 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15, Delmarva Central Railroad will initiate a temporary closure of Nanticoke Avenue at the Railroad Crossing between Noname Road and South Porter Street/Nanticoke Avenue.

DelDOT says the closure is necessary to facilitate resurfacing and general maintenance of the railroad crossing. The closure will be in effect for 24 hours a day until no later than 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, to facilitate the crucial maintenance work.

Detours during this work include:

For Southbound Traffic-

  • Travel on Nanticoke Avenue, turning onto S. Porter Street.
  • Continue onto Harrington Street.
  • Follow Harrington Street to Noname Road.
  • Rejoin Nanticoke Avenue via Noname Road.

For Northbound Traffic-

  • Proceed on Nanticoke Avenue, turning onto Noname Road.
  • Continue to Harrington Street.
  • Turn onto S. Porter Street.
  • Return to Nanticoke Avenue via S. Porter Street.

DelDOT says motorists are should look out for posted detour signs, exercise caution and allow extra travel time during the closure.
