SALISBURY, Md. - The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division has made another arrest in the early morning shooting that took place on Chippewa Boulevard in Salisbury on July 5. The office says the shooting injured 7 and resulted in the death of 14-year-old Xavier Maddox.Â
The office says Kairee Daquan Vanlandingham was arrested for gun related offenses on a search warrant. They say evidence found during this warrant further collected Vanlandingham to the shooting. According to the sheriff, Vanlandingham admitted to shooting a gun during the July 5 shooting, despite not being allowed to possess any guns.Â
According to the office, Vanlandingham was charged with the following:
- Assault 1st degree
- Possession of a firearm with a felony conviction
- illegal possession of a regulated firearm
- wear a handgun on person
- reckless endangerment
The office notes that these are only preliminary charges, and that Vanlandingham may face additional charges as a result of the investigation.
According to the office, this investigation is still active and more people will likely be charged in the future.Â
Suspects for the shooting have been arrested as recently as last month.
