Pedestrian crash

SEAFORD, Del. - Police say on Tuesday at 7:12 a.m., the Seaford police department responded to a crash that injured a 16-year-old pedestrian at the intersection of Virginia Ave. and Bridgeville Highway.

Police say the Seaford Volunteer Fire Department and Sussex County Paramedics also responded to the accident.

Police say the 16-year-old pedestrian sustained major injuries and was flown to a regional hospital by Delaware State Police Trooper 2 in stable condition. The driver of the car, a 26-year-old woman from Bridgeville, was not injured and was cited for inattentive driving and failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. The roadway was reopened after approximately 48 minutes.
