Salisbury, Md. - Delmarva is expecting a few more inches of snow Friday night. No matter the amount, plowing companies are at the ready preparing for anything from a dusting to a blizzard.
Spicer Bros. Construction in Salisbury transforms their dump trucks into snow plows in the winter. They provide salt and snow removal services for private entities, including business, neighborhoods, and residences.Â
Their staff is on-call, ready to go around-the-clock when a snowstorm is expected. Spicer Bros. President, Brian Spicer, says a lot goes into preparing for snow, from staff scheduling to gearing up the trucks.
"Pretty much all of our large trucks capable of pushing snow, snow removal, are geared and set up and equipped to do snow removal, as well as their daily job," Spicer said. "It’s just getting the plows ready, servicing the equipment, making sure the vehicles are ready, fueling up..."
Some roads were still icy Friday morning from Thursday's light snowfall. Keep in mind that when Friday's snow comes in, even if there is little accumulation, there is potential for messy roadways.
