HARBESON, Del. - Police are investigating a crash on Hurdle Ditch Rd. and Harbeson Rd. on Tuesday that injured a man.
Parts of those roads are blocked off as well as Johnson Rd near the crash. Delaware state police, Sussex County EMS, and the Lewes Fire Department were at the scene of the crash.
Police say a 2017 Ford Escort driven by a 78-year-old woman from Lewes was driving westbound on Coolspring Rd. approaching the stop sign at Harbeson Rd. A 55-year-old man from Bridgeville was driving a 2005 Ford F-150 southbound on Harbeson Rd. approaching Coolspring Rd. The Escort didn't stay stopped at the stop sign and tried to turn south onto Harbeson Rd. The F-150 swerved to the right to avoid the crash, but its front left side crashed into the front side of the Escort.
Police say the 55-year-old man was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The 78-year-old woman was not injured. She was cited for failing to remain stopped at the stop sign.
