REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - The Rehoboth Beach Patrol will host over 300 lifeguards for the 2025 United States Lifesaving Association’s Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships. The competition will take place in Rehoboth Beach on Baltimore Avenue at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9.
The athletes will compete to qualify for the United States Lifesaving Association’s national competition which will take place in California in August. The regional competition will include both surf and sand events including the 400-meter surf swim, 2K beach run and 90-meter sprint, to name a few.
“We’re excited to have the USLA Mid-Atlantics back on Rehoboth Beach,” said Rehoboth Beach Patrol Captain Jeff Giles. “We welcome everyone to come watch and support our guards.”
This is just one opportunity to see these lifeguard-athletes in action. The Rehoboth Beach Patrol Lifeguard Olympics is scheduled for Thursday, July 24, with junior lifeguards competing on July 28. They will be competing on the beach at Baltimore Avenue.
