Stell Parker Selby's Chair

Rep. Stell Parker Selby remains absent from her seat in Legislative Hall.

MILTON, Del. - Rep. Stell Parker Selby has still not returned to Legislative Hall.

The District 20 representative is reportedly out due to health concerns and was sworn in privately on March 24. The district, comprised of Lewes, Milton and some of Georgetown, has a total of 23,000 registered voters.

Previously, Rep. Tim Dukes told CoastTV his concerns for the district saying, "They don't have a voice in Dover or vote in Dover with her absence," and when CoastTV recently asked House Speaker Minor-Brown when Selby would return, she said, "It is as soon as she gets the clearance from her doctor."

Milton local Anthony Esposito made a phone call on Tuesday to Rep. Parker Selby's office in Dover. He received no answer.

This is what people in the 20th District like Esposito say is their reality when reaching out to her office for help.

Esposito is one of the many people living on Round Pole Bridge Road in Milton.

He and his neighbors say DelDOT's road work for a new housing subdivision has been a nightmare for them as working parents.

"It has been terrible, it has been horrible. We're trying to band together as neighbors to try to work together on this, and we're doing the best we can, but it is an extreme inconvenience," said Esposito.

Esposito says he contacted Senator Russ Huxtable who told him to contact Rep. Parker Selby.

"He said if there were those two people to call and Stell Parker Selby was available and well, she would be the one to get stuff done."

Esposito told CoastTV he emailed Rep. Parker Selby on March 26 and is still waiting to hear back.

"I got absolutely no response," Esposito shared.

No response. No voice and no vote in Dover.

"I feel like we're being left out, like we've been forgotten. We need to get our voices heard and with this case of developments, we need someone in there who's going to not let them walk all over us," Esposito explained.

With the house now in week seven of legislative session, Esposito is left wondering when he and his neighbors will have their voices heard.
